Four Ghanaians have been arraigned before the High Court in Accra in connection with the alleged exportation of nearly four tonnes of cocaine from Ghana to France. The shipment, estimated to have a street value of about €225 million, was seized by French customs at the port of Dunkirk on September 10, 2026.

The accused are Desmond Koranteng Curiel, also known as “Paul Kweku Yeboah” or “Biggs”; Musah Attah, known as “Kromo”; Kweku Otchere; and Jessica Hartog. They face charges of conspiracy to export narcotic drugs without the required licence and the exportation of narcotic drugs.

The cocaine was allegedly concealed inside a container carrying plastic waste that had arrived from Ghana. French authorities intercepted the shipment at Dunkirk, with part of the consignment reportedly destined for Antwerp, Belgium.

The four accused appeared before the court on September 16 and were remanded in custody. They are expected to return to court on October 13, 2026. A fifth suspect, Dutch national Jos Leijdekkers, also known as “Bolle Jos,” is currently at large.

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has been working with French authorities as investigations continue into how the shipment allegedly left Ghana and reached France. The accused persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
