A fire outbreak near ECG’s Substation D at Avenor has disrupted electricity supply to several communities in Accra, including North Kaneshie, Tesano, Abeka Junction and Alajo Junction.
A fire outbreak at the North Industrial Area has caused a power outage affecting several communities in Accra, according to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
ECG’s Accra West Region said the outage was caused by a raging fire near its Substation D at Avenor.
The affected areas include North Industrial Area, North Kaneshie, Tesano, Abeka Junction, Peace FM, Santana Market and Alajo Junction, as well as surrounding communities.
The electricity distributor said its technical teams had been deployed to address the fault and restore power to affected customers.
ECG has not provided a specific timeframe for the full restoration of electricity but assured residents and businesses that engineers were working to resolve the situation.
The company apologised for the inconvenience and urged affected customers to await further updates as restoration efforts continue.
